A Balanced Diet

A Balanced Diet

People love trying the next fad diet. They’ll give up all fat and eat nothing but salad. They’ll swear off sugar and use only chemical-laden substitutes. But your body needs things like fat, carbohydrates, and protein to survive. Rather than eliminating one or more items, what your body really needs is balance.

Sometimes in trying to become better versions of ourselves, we can also go to extremes. Those raised by a strict family may decide that their kids are going to have free rein. A woman abused in past relationships may demand that her husband meet her every need.

But no matter what you’ve experienced or what you’ve been told, life is best lived in balance. Kids need both freedom and discipline. Husbands need love and patience just as much as they should give it.

God knows what’s good for you. Like eating a balanced diet, make sure you eat everything He puts on your plate.

Balances belong to the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making. —Proverbs 16:11
