Guarding Your Space

Guarding Your Space

Your house is clean.

It’s like living in a congested city and then spending the weekend in the mountains. You had no idea exactly how repressive the clutter was until you were free of it.

But how do you not let it happen again?

It’s really a reversal of how you likely got rid of it in the first place. You probably had to make tough choices on what you really needed, or how often it would actually be used. If it didn’t qualify, out it went! You need to use the same scrutiny now when considering what, if anything, should enter your home again.

The simplicity of space and what material objects should demand your focus is something that needs to be protected. Remember: you got yourself into this mess one choice at a time. You can guard your space exactly the same way.

“Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” —Luke 12:15
