Improvise, Adapt, And Overcome
Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome
The Marines are famous for their discipline. They train through repetition. They have a whatever-it-takes attitude. They submit to authority and stick to set rules of engagement. But the Marines are also used in difficult warfare situations because of their ability to improvise, adapt, and overcome.
Battles often go in a different direction than expected. Some challenges require shifting quickly from one approach to the next. It’s at those times that Marines must use their training and discipline to overcome these life-and-death challenges.
You can’t tackle the challenge of becoming a better person without a good deal of discipline under your belt. Sometimes your best discipline will be knowing when your current method of change isn’t working and adapting to a different approach.
Like the Marines, remain always faithful to the mission of change, and you’ll find you can overcome just about anything.
I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. —1 Corinthians 9:22–23
