Let Yourself Be Moved
Let Yourself Be Moved
The movement that matters is a bit like the chicken and the egg. Do you make the first move? Or are you moved to move?
Most things originate from God, and the impulse that gets you off the couch is probably no exception. God works in our hearts to move, but He still allows us to resist that impulse. You don’t have to move if you don’t want to.
But consider the time when you saw someone in need and were moved to compassion. Remember when you felt that feeling that something was wrong and needed to be addressed? Or when you felt the motivation to stop and savor what matters? God was probably giving you that little nudge, urging you to take one step and then another.
It’s up to you to move. But let yourself be moved too. More often than not, it’ll send you in a direction that matters.
For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. —2 Peter 1:21 NKJV
