Look Behind You

Some people are born leaders. The rest of us need to learn that we’ve been leaders all along.

Leading simply means that anyone would look at what you’re doing, saying, or thinking and want to do likewise. People are always watching. Most are looking to follow somebody. Look behind you. There’s probably somebody back there.

Whether we admit it or not, we’re always craving guidance for our next steps and are influenced by those we see. So give others the gift of your leadership. Walk in a way that you’d want your children to follow. Be an example that your family and friends would model.

Your life is a gift—not just the fact that you’re alive but the way you live. That can be your gift to others. Make your life a gift to those who are starving for something more.

Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. —Philippians 3:17
