Prayer

Prayer is putting wonder into words.

What is it that you need? Speak to the One who supplies every need. What are you straining to understand? Trust the One who will reveal it to you. What fears have you tied in knots? Lift them to the heavens and remember He’s bigger than any monster under the bed. Thank Him for how He has made the impossible possible, and ask Him for courage when you round the next turn.

Sometimes, what’s beyond you feels so overwhelming that you have no words. It’s all you can do to drop to your knees and just ask to feel His presence. To know that this God of wonders comes near when we pray and meets our every need.

Maybe not in the way we expect. Maybe not on the timetable we’d like. But He is there all the same.

The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. —Romans 8:26
