Social Security

Social Security

Once you’ve made the decision to create more stability for yourself, it’s important to make good choices about what types of people you rebuild your life with.

Remember, you’re no longer a drama junkie. You can avoid those who are still stuck in that addiction.

We’re not talking about expecting perfect people. But it’s good to find those who are also building on a firm foundation, whose general structure is sound, preferably people who live in a classic brownstone, who’ve weathered decades of storms and have lived to tell about it.

Perhaps the only thing better than a sturdy house is a strong and secure neighborhood. You check on your neighbors when they’re sick. You look out for each other in good times and bad. You’re not afraid to walk your dog after dark. It’s a safe place to grow, raise your kids, to have a life.

Surround yourself with stable people. They matter.

Bad company corrupts good character. —1 Corinthians 15:33
