The Head Of The Household
The Head of the Household
To know any lasting peace as a parent, you’ll need the wisdom to know the difference between what you can and should control in your children’s lives and what you can’t and shouldn’t control.
This wisdom will come only by acknowledging who the true head of this household is: God Himself.
You’ll make mistakes as a parent, but God can redeem those mistakes. Your children will fail many times growing up, but God will be best at disciplining, correcting, and welcoming them back home. You’ll cry on your knees for the areas of parenting you can’t control, namely their safety and their destiny, but that’s all up to God.
If it’s clear to your children that this is a family that serves the Lord, they’ll more readily submit to you because you’re submitting to Him. You’ll raise a family that lives for eternity and honors the life that matters.
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! —Isaiah 49:15
