The Language Of Communion

The Language of Communion

How well we communicate matters in virtually every area of life and could have been addressed in every section of this book. But most of the words of Scripture are about what’s wrong and about how to make it right. So communication is probably best addressed here.

It is no accident that the word communicate sounds similar to the words community and communion. Words are the primary way to connect, or reconnect, to what matters, particularly our relationships with God, others, and ourselves.

One of the chief vehicles for your journey toward wholeness and reconnection will be how much you value the words you use, how much you understand their meaning and power, and how much you’re up for the task of learning a new language.

Embrace the glorious and beautiful language of communion.

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. —Psalm 119:130
