Your First Trip To The Gym
Your First Trip to the Gym
You walk into the gym on your first day, and there they are.
Everyone looks like they belong on TV. Their slim frames and toned muscles. The determined look in their eyes. How can someone run that fast? You could never lift that much weight. You’re ready to turn around and go home.
But then you notice the others. An older woman is moving slowly, but she’s not stopping. An overweight boy strains on a treadmill, but his dad is nearby, cheering him on. They have the same look in their eyes as the “models.” They’ve come to move, and they won’t stop until the workout is done.
Nobody goes from zero to sixty their first time to the gym. Don’t compare yourself to others. Just show up and start moving. That look of determination and your resolve to finish what you start is all you really need.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. —1 Corinthians 9:25
