Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

IT IS PART of the human condition to long for admiration. The disciples argued over which of them was considered the greatest even while they were sitting at the same table as the Son of God! They were so concerned over what others thought about them that they missed out on spending time with Jesus. Have you made the same mistake? Seek God first and let go of trying to win over people. His love has the power to scatter your insecurities, self-doubts, and feelings of unworthiness. This kind of love is the only thing that can free you from being a slave to human opinion. Whenever you notice yourself striving or performing, declare this truth—I am known and loved by my Creator. The more you meditate on his love, the less you will care about what others think.
