A Spectacle Of Glory #123
A Spectacle of Glory #123
Read: 1 John 4:16
John writes, “We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.” The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit relate to one another in a vast waterfall of love and joy. And it’s nothing short of astounding that the Trinity is driven to share that joy—with us! This was Christ’s mission on earth. He said, “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you.”a Soon, believers will step into the waterfall of joy and pleasure. In fact, your believing loved ones who have died participate in that Niagara Falls of delight right now in heaven. On the other side of this life, we will not only know God; we will know Him in that deep, personal union, that utter euphoria of experiencing Him. We will eat from the tree of life and overflow with more pleasure than we can contain.
I know, Lord, that You share Your joy on Your own terms—and those terms call for us to endure suffering, even as You suffered on earth. Remind me today that “our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”b Be my strength and my vision, Lord, when my own strength and vision fail.
