A Spectacle Of Glory #24

Read: Ephesians 6:14-15

When you don’t walk, your shoes never wear out. My shoes can last me ten years or more and still look brand-new. The soles that have never touched dirt, gravel, pavement, or even carpet stay pristine. But I did have some sandals that got mud-stained in a monsoon in the Philippines back in the 1980s—and I treasure those stains. They remind me of the people who came to Christ that very night, in the storm, as we huddled together in a shelter. It was good to get my feet dirty bringing Good News to people who need Jesus! The truth is, even though my shoes may not get a lot of mileage, my wheelchair logs countless miles. Traveling isn’t easy for me, but the Lord has sent me to visit more than fifty countries with the gospel of peace. Whatever inconvenience, difficulty, hardship, or physical and emotional wear-and-tear we experience to bring the story of Jesus to others is worth it a thousand times over.

Lord Jesus, I would love the privilege to speak for You today. I don’t know how it will happen, where I will be, or whom I might encounter, but when the opportune moment comes, let me open my mouth and say a word or two that turns the conversation toward You.
