A Spectacle Of Glory #365
A Spectacle of Glory #365
Read: Revelation 22:12-13
Today’s Scripture gives the best possible word on which to end our year together: “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” In the course of this past year, we’ve heard countless voices and read material by dozens of authors. But after all is said, read, and done, Jesus is the first word in our lives, and He is the last word. What more can we say? Who else can we turn to? Where else could we go? There is no one like Jesus. It’s my prayer that the plans you make, the ways you spend your time, the thoughts you entertain, the words you speak, the company you keep, and the manner in which you live before others—all of it—will point to Him.
As David prayed to You, dear Lord, “You are my God. My times are in your hands.”a Oh, that I would remember this, from the time I open my eyes in the morning and in every minute as I go through my day. My life is not my own; my time is not my own; my opportunities are not my own. I belong to another—to Him who gave His life for me.
a Psalm 31:14–15.
