A Spectacle Of Glory #47
A Spectacle of Glory #47
Read: Isaiah 1:18, NKJV
Have you ever been involved in a legal battle? No matter what you think about lawyers, having a good one at your side in a courtroom is an incredible comfort. Skilled lawyers pour a great deal of time and preparation into each case. And when he or she approaches the bench and convinces the judge with the facts—what a satisfying moment!
In today’s Scripture, it’s as though the Judge of all the earth invites us to approach His bench. He says, “Come now, and let us reason together.” God loves it when we take the time to reason with Him, explaining why we think it would be His will for Him to do a certain thing. It shows the Lord we have searched His Word and carefully thought through our requests. So the next time you pray, first think through why you believe something to be God’s will. Because the Judge is listening.
Lord God, You are the great Judge of the universe, but You are also my Father. When I am puzzled or perplexed, when I feel under attack by accusing voices, You invite me to come to You. And when I pour out my heart, You show Your love by listening to me. And then—praise Your name!—You act on my behalf.
