The Bible promises that God is kind and merciful and will always be ready to receive you with love when you confess your sins and seek a relationship with him. One of the worst caricatures of God is the image of him as an angry old man. Instead of harboring fierce anger and raining down cruel punishment, God corrects his children with gentle discipline that is actually an expression of his love in action.
