Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!

The Bible says that God’s very own joy will strengthen your heart. Joy springs from God’s love, which is not dependent on your circumstances or your performance. When you realize just how great God’s love for you really is, you become less vulnerable to depression and despair. The more you love him and become like him, the greater your joy will be. You will find perfect and lasting joy only in heaven, but you can still experience satisfying joy in this life by walking with God.
