Quiet Meditation

Quiet Meditation

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. . . . Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.

Psalm 62:1, 5

The practice of meditation involves setting aside time to intentionally think about God, talk to him, and listen to him. When you make time to meditate on the Lord, you distance yourself from the distractions and noise of the world and move within range of his voice. You open your mind to his teaching and allow him to mold your desires to reflect his own. As a result, your thoughts and actions fall in line with his will. Meditation is more than just the study of God. It is intimate communion with him, which ultimately leads to holy living.
