Beautiful Word Devotional #103

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

Titus 1:15

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, corrupt means “to change (something) so that it is less pure or valuable.” If we constantly slip into sin, preferring to go our own way rather than follow God’s ways, we will begin to experience the corruption of our souls. In short, our souls decay and become something that is less than.

The opposite is gloriously true, though. When you follow Jesus, choosing him and his ways, renouncing your way of living life, you will experience the forgiveness of your sins and the cleansing of your soul.

Take a moment today to surrender. Give Jesus everything that is bothering you. Ask forgiveness for the ways and times you walk in your own strength. Tell him of your desire to have an unadulterated heart. He is faithful to answer such prayers of surrender. Oh, how he loves you and longs to set you free.

Lord, I want to be entirely devoted to you, protected from corruption and being transformed into Christlikeness, amen.
