Beautiful Word Devotional #139

The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.

1 Samuel 17:37

Everything that’s happened to us in the past prepares us to face our giants today. David recounted his own escapades with wild things and God’s faithfulness) as he faced the wildest one of all: Goliath.

If you’re facing a giant, take a few minutes to recount the many times God has rescued you. Look back on your life and note the places God intervened. When did he come to your aid? When was a relationship salvaged? A job renewed? A financial situation stabilized?

When you remember amazing things God has done and remind yourself of his faithfulness, you are better able to face whatever giant looms before you. Remember, God is bigger than giants. He is bigger than circumstances. He is bigger than your problems. Furthermore, he can be trusted, and he loves to help you.

Lord, help me remember that you are faithful and that you are bigger than the giants I face, amen.
