Beautiful Word Devotional #162

Be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.

1 Samuel 12:24

To fear God and to serve him with our whole heart comes more easily when we remember the amazing things he has done in our lives and especially for our salvation.

Often in the Old Testament, God reminded the Israelites to remember his great deeds and faithfulness. A lot of their rebellion and wandering came because they forgot the goodness of God. Are you forgetting?

Think about the ways God been faithful to you. List some of the “great things” he has done on your behalf. When did he save you? What relationships has he given you that have blessed you? When has God supplied your needs in an unexpected way? In what ways has God helped you in your job? Your finances? Your direction? Your passions? Your ministry?

You have so much to be grateful for. Thank the Lord by serving him “faithfully with all your heart.”

Lord, everything I have is a beautiful gift of love from generous and gracious you. Thank you, amen.
