Beautiful Word Devotional #190

The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

1 Thessalonians 5:2

The Day of the Lord is referred to throughout the Old and New Testaments, and it refers to the ultimate day of reckoning when God’s justice will finally prevail. All wrongs will be made right.

But it won’t come on a specified day. Just like the day of your death, you won’t know when the Day of the Lord will occur. So be ready.

To be living with an awareness of the Day of the Lord means to live as if it will arrive any moment. It means being faithful to God, trusting him, and choosing to follow him no matter what temptations come your way.

Furthermore, we want to be faithful stewards of all God has given us, so that when he returns, he will find us living in a way that honors him, waiting expectantly, and serving him with joy.

What a blessing it will be when God finds you faithful!

Lord, I want to be faithful to you every day, no matter the circumstances or the pressure. So please help me live each day in light of eternity with you, amen.
