All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Acts 2:4

All of them. Every single person waiting in the Upper Room was praying, singing, waiting, trusting—and all of them received the Spirit of God. The Spirit came with tongues as of fire and the sound of a violent wind, fell upon them, and enabled them to speak in other languages—and the words they spoke were in praise to God (v. 11).

What is your praise level today? Have you reached your saturation point? Of course not! None of us can reach a perfect or adequate amount of praise—and that’s not to be a goal. But if praising God indicates the presence of the Spirit of God within a person, what evidence that God’s Spirit is with you did you see in the past week? This past month? May God’s Spirit with you fuel joy and prompt heartfelt praise!

Even if life is dark and hard, you can still choose right now to take your eyes off your circumstances, look to God, and to praise his goodness anyway.

Lord, I want to choose to praise you today, amen.
