Beautiful Word Devotional #222
We have only five loaves of bread and two fish.
Luke 9:13
Little is much in the hands of Jesus.
The crowd of five thousand men—plus women and children—was hungry. The situation could have gotten volatile as the people grew hungrier and impatient, as tiredness led to crankiness. In the crowd was a young boy with his lunch, five little loaves of bread and two dried fish. But Jesus took that little and made it much. With those small amounts, he satisfied the hunger of a crowd of thousands after the boy willingly shared what he had, and the disciples acted on their initially meager faith.
Don’t miss this encouraging truth! We can approach God with “But I have only _______” and hear him say, “That’s okay. It is enough. Simply place in my hands what you have.”
That’s the key: surrender. Take the little you have and give it as an offering to Jesus. He can multiply your small amount and do something miraculous and satisfying. Take the small faith you have, place it in Jesus’ hands, and watch him do something big.
Lord, I praise you that little is much in your hands, amen.
