Beautiful Word Devotional #300

Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

Numbers 13:30

Of course Caleb saw the giants. He and Joshua saw the threat as clearly as the other ten spies did. The difference was, both Joshua and Caleb knew God was greater than the enemy. They knew the enemy was mighty—and they knew God was mightier.

Both groups saw the same giants, but each group interpreted the situation differently—one looked through eyes of faith, and the other, through eyes of fear. Their idea about what Israel should do was based on their perspective.

You have that same choice today. Will you focus on the gigantic circumstances that are overwhelming you, or will you settle your soul by remembering God’s faithfulness to you and believing he will prevail? With faith in God, you can live with confidence like Caleb did. You’ll see beyond the current struggle. You’ll be looking to your good and powerful God and trusting him to deliver you. The choice is yours.

Lord, I praise you for being bigger than my giants and able to deliver me. Thank you in advance for rescuing me, amen.
