Beautiful Word Devotional #318
Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
It’s easy to have faith when everything is going smoothly. It’s another thing, however, to have faith when we can’t see around the bend in the road of life. Having faith means having a different sort of vision—the ability to see God’s work even when we cannot see his hand.
God often brings difficult circumstances into our lives to help us build our faith muscle. When bills are due and there’s no money to pay them, either we can give in to panic, or we can exercise that faith muscle, believing that our heavenly Father knows our need and can supernaturally provide. This doesn’t mean the check will always come in the mail. When the check doesn’t show up, God then provides us with the ability to endure hardship.
And the presence of hardship doesn’t negate God’s love for you. In fact, because he loves you, he loves to build your faith. Your job is simply to choose to have faith in him, no matter what you see around you.
Lord, I want a stronger faith muscle. Please give me strength for today’s workout, amen.
