Beautiful Word Devotional #346

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12

We live in a dark world. Satan brings darkness wherever sin lurks. But Jesus said he is the Light of the World who came to dispel the darkness of Satan’s lies and deceit as well as the ultimate darkness of sin and death. Darkness can’t be wherever Jesus is.

That’s why Jesus promised us that if we follow him, we will “never walk in darkness.” We will have the light of truth in a world that claims various untruths as truth. We’ll have the light of guidance when the world’s voices call our name. We’ll have light that brings healing and growth just as it does in the natural world. And we’ll have the light of hope when this world beats us down.

The Light of the World will disperse the darkness within us and around us as we follow him.

Lord, thank you that wherever I go, I walk in the light of your truth, guidance, healing, growth, and hope, amen.
