Beautiful Word Devotional #358
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
In this verse, to be confident is to have the assurance that when we approach God, he will not yell at us or shake his finger our way. Many of us have experienced relationships with people who ruled with shame and ridicule, so much so that we feared approaching them.
Thankfully, God does not shame or ridicule. He sent his Son Jesus to die in our place, and he welcomes us wholeheartedly into his family. Our God is a good Father who unconditionally loves us and fully pardons us.
That’s why the throne of our Father is called a throne of grace. It’s a place where you are pardoned, reconciled, made new, and given a new path to walk. It’s a place where, when you stumble, your heavenly Father gently dusts you off and encourages you to move forward. He doles out mercy aplenty, and he is not angry at your neediness.
Lord, I am very aware that I need you. Please shower me with your grace, amen.
