Peace - Bible Promises for Moms
Peace
My father-in-law was a dear man. We all lived in the same big, rambling house together with him and his wife. One night he began experiencing a health crisis. Soon there was an ambulance parked in our driveway and paramedics rushing in with a gurney. My in-laws’ living room was a scene of utter chaos with grandchildren crying and my husband and his mother asking questions and paramedics trying to make vital decisions while others prayed quietly, unsure of what to do. The chaos became more intense as we all realized the problem was even more serious than we had thought. And yet . . . in the midst of that storm there was a peace that surpassed all understanding. We didn’t know that my precious father-in-law would soon be with the Lord, but we knew that somehow it was going to be all right. The kind of peace we felt in that difficult time is also available to you today. We serve the Prince of Peace, and He stands ready and willing to help us experience peace in the midst of chaos and hope in the midst of despair. He truly does offer peace that passes our human understanding. If you’re struggling to find peace today, look to Jesus. His peace is the promise that’s offered to every child of God.
WHEN THE WORLD’S PEACE LEAVES YOU UNSATISFIED . . .
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
WHEN YOU WONDER WHERE YOUR PEACE IS COMING FROM . . .
You will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
WHEN PEACE SEEMS TO ELUDE YOU . . .
[Jesus said,] “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
WHEN YOUR CHILDREN NEED GOD’S PERSPECTIVE ON LIVING AT PEACE WITH OTHERS . . .
Salt is good for seasoning. But if it loses its flavor, how do you make it salty again? You must have the qualities of salt among yourselves and live in peace with each other.
Those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
