God Is Always With You

Breathe Deep and Know: You don’t have to be afraid because God is always with you.

God doesn’t just sit up on the mountain top waiting to meet you after you’ve made the grueling climb out of your valley of suffering. He isn’t found only on the other side of the dark valley, where the sun is shining and the shadows are far behind you. God is right there in the valley with you, right there in the deepest depths of your fear, no matter how dark it gets. Whatever your present moment is right now, He is with you in it.

Prayer doesn’t promise an immediate path out of the valley of suffering. But what prayer can do is tune your soul to the Presence of God. Psalm 23:4 doesn’t say “if I walk through the darkest valley”; it says “when I walk through the darkest valley.” The valleys will come. The darkness will cross our paths. But God promises that He is with us through it all, walking alongside us on the journey.

As you pray today, reach out through your darkness and feel for His hand. He’s right there walking beside you, and He will never leave your side.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

Psalm 23:4
