Daily Power #139
Daily Power #139
On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased. (Ps. 138:3 ESV)
Remember the guy I told you about at the awards ceremony? He wasn’t a Christian, but he shook my hand and said that it was the boldest thing he’d ever seen. Well, I hadn’t seen that guy for years until recently when I bumped into him. “Hey, you’re the guy from back in school! How’s it going?”
He said, “Yeah, it’s great to see you! I’m doing well. And I’m really enjoying that sermon series you’re doing right now.”
“Say what?! I didn’t know you were in our church. That’s awesome!”
The guy smiled, nodded, and said, “Man, Groeschel, I remember back in school when you gave that bold speech at the awards dinner. I wanted to believe you were different because I knew how you were, but honestly I thought it would wear off. Then a couple years ago somebody invited me to Life.Church. When I walked in and saw you up there, I freaked. All these years later, there you were—with the same passionate message. Your faith hadn’t worn off. Jesus had truly changed you. And because he changed you, I wanted him to change me.”
Jesus loves you and me enough to change us and use us to show others what he can do. He’ll grow your faith, and give you boldness, and you’ll see results that will blow your mind. Refuse to be a halfhearted, lukewarm Christian. Fall so in love with God that everywhere you go, you overflow with a spiritual boldness of love and compassion that draws people to Christ.
Power Lift
Jesus, help me to be consistently bold in what I say and what I do so that others can see your power at work transforming my heart and life.
