Daily Power #348
He who has a generous eye will be blessed. (Prov. 22:9 NKJV)
Some people have an eye for fashion. They can spot a brand a mile away. They know who has it going on and who is striving but hasn’t arrived. Some have an eye for cars. They know which year is the best, which model holds its value, which brand is most economical. Others have an eye for talent. They see potential in people that many overlook. Given time, they can help someone who is average at their work become great.
What if you asked God to give you an eye for generosity? Instead of just looking for things that interest you, you could look for a way to bless and serve others. If you ask God to help you see needs you can meet, God will open your eyes to a world of possibilities.
He may lead you to give a few extra minutes to listen to someone who is hurting. God may show you an opportunity to help someone who has car trouble. You might overhear someone who is struggling to make rent, and you offer to throw in some extra to help them get by.
Instead of just developing our “eyes” for what interests us, God can give us an eye to bless others. And when you do give, you will be blown away at how God gives back to you. Because when you develop an eye for generosity, not only will you bless others, but you too will be blessed.

Give me an eye for generosity, Lord, so that I can spot the needs of others and bless them with your abundant provision.
