Daily Power #365

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13)

How would you describe this past year? Was it harder than you expected, filled with ongoing struggles and discouraging news? Or were you surprised by blessings beyond what you had imagined, seeing God’s hand at work in miraculous ways? For most of us, it was probably some of both.

The good news is that regardless of how we feel about the past twelve months, we can trust that God is still in control. Even if you can’t see how he could possibly use some of the painful moments from your past, he loves to do the impossible.

As you look ahead and set goals or resolutions for the new year, put God first. Trust him with every area of your life. Ask him to draw you closer to Christ and to open your heart. Start small and know that he is with you every step of the way. No matter what lies ahead, you can have peace. God didn’t bring you this far to give up on you now!

Tomorrow is a new day and a new year.

Give God the glory for all he’s done—and for all he’s about to do!

Power Lift

Dear God, wow—I can’t believe this year went by so quickly! Help me to learn from this past year and to look ahead toward what you are doing in my life moving forward. I trust you with my life and believe your best is yet to come!
