Daily Power #75

Daily Power #75

“You will call on me and come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jer. 29:12–13)

My wife once lost her wedding ring, and we thought we would never find it. We looked in every nook and cranny, every toy box and cupboard, every bedroom and bookshelf. Still no ring. After it had been missing for close to a year, I bought a new ring and surprised Amy with it on a weekend getaway. But the surprise was on me a few weeks later when we found her old ring in one of the seams of a chair in our living room!

It’s so frustrating and inconvenient when we misplace something that’s important to us. We have to retrace our steps, searching for the missing item in obvious places, and then it always seems to be in some place we never expected. But you can never find it if you never start looking. Sometimes we may feel like we’ve lost our faith or that somehow God is no longer close to us. We feel powerless, untethered from our anchor. We get scared that we’ll never be close to God again.

But all you have to do is call out to your Father. God is never far away. He’s right here with you right now. When you seek him with all your heart, you discover that he was there all along.

Power Lift

Father, I’m so grateful that you are always with me. I want to seek you with my whole heart today in all that I do. Help me to find you and to know you are always with me.
