A Barnyard Of Pigs

Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.

Without Christ, we’re left with nothing but despair. William Lane Craig, the brilliant professor, said that a worldview that omits God is tragic. “Mankind is a doomed race in a dying universe,” he wrote, “because the human race will eventually cease to exist, it makes no ultimate difference whether it ever did exist. Mankind is thus no more significant than a swarm of mosquitoes or a barnyard of pigs, for their end is all the same. The same blind cosmic process that coughed them up in the first place will eventually swallow them all again.”

We’re living in a world in which several generations have been taught a philosophy of despair. If evolution is true, we’re nothing more than random accidents that emerged from primordial slime. There is no basis for hope. We have no future, no everlasting life.

Look closely and you’ll see despair in the eyes of those around you at school or work. But we know that there is no hope apart from God, no joy apart from Christ, and no eternal salvation apart from the Gospel.

Today, let hope shine through you that others, seeing it, will ask about it. And then tell them about Christ, the King of the ages.
