Blessed Are Those Who Trust In The Lord

Blessed Are Those Who Trust In The Lord

Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Galatians 6:9

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7–8).

The person who loves God is like a tree with deep roots. During a drought, when all the other trees are perishing, that tree will remain healthy and strong. There is no anxiety, for the commitment of that tree reaches beyond the circumstances of the storm.

If we are to succeed in the midst of trouble, and if we are not to quit when the going gets tough, we need to get our roots down deep into the Lord, establishing a commitment in Christ that goes beyond our circumstances. As the apostle Paul put it, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9).
