Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

TWO FUNDAMENTAL GIFTS OF GOD are provided through the atonement of Jesus Christ—salvation and sanctification. These are for you to take, not for you to gain. Nobody but an abject spiritual pauper can get saved or sanctified. Oh, God, deliver us from thinking that the energy of the flesh can save us!

And may God prevent anyone from being tripped by the profound simplicity of Christ! It is easy to be saved or sanctified. All depends upon our obeying God’s will, when it is clearly stated.

Prayer Thought: Heavenly Father, give me faith to fully accept salvation and sanctification as a free gift of Your love to me.
