For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

—Romans 3:23

SIN IS UNIVERSAL. YET THE Cross of Jesus can destroy the disposition of sin. The Cross can give us a clean heart; its power can invade and indwell us, making us masters over every thought and desire.

Thus, the salvation of Jesus Christ is not for just “an experience.” God save us from this “experience” business! Sin must be eradicated and strangled to death. An absolute surrender must be made to God—we must yield ourselves to a full invasion of God. There is no deliverance from sin until we seek the Cross of Jesus Christ, who became sin for us. Holy character is the result of God’s work—a character pure in secret and in public.

We must be leagues above moral integrity. We must be stamped, not only by moral integrity, but by the supernatural character of God, made available to us by the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Prayer Thought: Lord, create true character within me—a character pleasing to You!
