Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

FRIENDSHIP WITH CHRIST IS ONLY one part of the sources of abiding spiritual freshness. Work is the other. Our Lord labored, and did so easily.

Much of the work done for God and the church today shatters the nervous system and strains the body. This must not continue if we are to have abiding freshness. It is not the work we do for God that keeps us fresh; it is the work we allow God to do through us. With a heart at leisure from itself, through abiding friendship with Jesus, we can have an indefatigable fund of energy for beneficial work.

In spite of all the opposition of the world, the flesh, and the Devil, we can know that God is doing His work through us. His fountain of living water can well up within us to eternal life, so that the thirsty and parched throughout the world may rejoice and be refreshed and uplifted, wherever we go!

Prayer Thought: O God, forgive me for being self-righteously busy for You. Give me a fresh touch of spiritual blessing and anointing, I pray.
