And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

SPIRITUAL FREEDOM FULFILLS ALL THE law of God and transfigures that fulfillment into loving devotion. Oh, the sublimity of that freedom where, “sharing in the suffering of our Savior,” we are released from being dupes of ourselves, our convictions, our temperaments, and we realize with John that “our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3).

Let it be said with all reverence and in the deepest humility that suffering according to the will of God raises us to a freedom in God that baffles all language to express it to others. Do you know the unspeakable bliss of God abiding with you, making you one with Him? This is the sublime height of suffering according to the will of God.

When we are filled by the Spirit of the living God, we can be one in holiness, one in love, and one forever with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Thought: Lord of all holiness, I seek to think, act, and respond in the beauty of holiness in every happening of life.
