MY QUESTION for GOD

What kind of ambition does God want me to have?

A MOMENT with GOD

The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.

Psalm 27:4

Having a strong, vital relationship with God should be your highest ambition. It is the one thing that can be pursued without reservation.

God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. . . . God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.

Let love be your highest goal!

1 Corinthians 14:1

Working toward justice, peace, and love in the world and bringing people into a relationship with God are ambitions worthy of your time and energy.

My ambition has always been to preach the Good News where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else.

Romans 15:20

Paul demonstrated a “holy ambition” to do great things for God. A holy ambition is a vision rooted in the will and service of God—a vision so great that only God can accomplish it. But such ambition can turn into a selfish pursuit unless it is continually realigned with God’s Word and energized by the Holy Spirit. Unholy ambition uses God to advance your own reputation and your own cause. Holy ambition, however, means you offer yourself to be used by God to advance his vision and his cause.

Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

A fundamental ambition for your life should be to provide for yourself so that you will be respected by others and not be a burden to them.
