Convictions
Convictions
MY QUESTION for GOD
What are some basic convictions I should have as a Christian?
A MOMENT with GOD
God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
Hebrews 6:18
This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.
Titus 1:2
God always keeps his promises. He cannot lie, so his Word is truth. You can trust what he says.
Then God gave the people all these instructions: “I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. You must not have any other god but me.”
Exodus 20:1-3
God must be the first priority in your life. When he is, you will see things from his perspective, which will change the way you act and think.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17
If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
1 John 1:9
If you are truly sorry for your sins and confess them to God, and if you believe that God’s Son, Jesus, died for you to take upon himself the punishment for sin you deserve, then God forgives you and gives you the gift of salvation. The moment you are saved, the Holy Spirit enters your heart and begins transforming you into a new person from the inside out. Then you and everyone else will see that your life is different.
We will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
Ephesians 4:15
If you live by the truths in God’s Word, you will become more and more like Jesus. This should be your primary goal.
Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!
Hebrews 10:35
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
Jeremiah 17:7
Trusting in the Lord brings great blessing and eternal rewards.
I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray.
Psalm 17:6
God answers prayer.
I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
Psalm 16:8
God is always with you.
I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
Nothing can separate you from God’s love for you.
DIVINE PROMISE
Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the LORD are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall. Hosea 14:9
