MY QUESTION for GOD

I’ve done some pretty awful things. How can God forgive me?

A MOMENT with GOD

You are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

Colossians 1:22

Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

When God forgives you, he looks at you as though you have never sinned; you become blameless before him. When God forgives you, he doesn’t just sweep your sins under the carpet; he completely washes them away.

Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight.

Psalm 51:4

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

1 John 1:8-9

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Realize that God is the one who has ultimately been wronged by your sin, so you should seek forgiveness from him first. Confessing your sin is the first step in receiving forgiveness. To confess your sin means to agree with God that you have done something wrong. Because Jesus Christ died to take the punishment for your sin and rose from the dead to show his power over death, God accepts your confession and forgives you. There is nothing more you must do. Don’t allow lingering feelings of shame to persuade you otherwise.

This is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.

Matthew 26:28

Jesus died on the cross so that God’s forgiveness would be freely available to you. Jesus took the punishment you deserve. He paid your debt in full. All you need to do is accept God’s gift of forgiveness.

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

Psalm 51:17

God is more ready to forgive than you may be to repent. A broken and humble heart is the quickest way to spiritual wholeness.

I tell you the truth, all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven.

Psalm 103:3, 10-12

Forgiveness is not based on the magnitude of the sin but on the magnitude of the forgiver’s love. Nothing you’ve done is so bad that God’s complete and unconditional love can’t forgive it. However, the Bible does mention one unforgivable sin: harboring an attitude of defiant hostility toward God that prevents you from accepting his forgiveness (see Mark 3:29 and Matthew 12:31). Only those who don’t want God’s forgiveness are out of its reach.
