Confidence
Confidence
My Question for God
Where can I find the confidence I need to face life without fear?
A Moment with God
Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.
Psalm 112:5-8
Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.
Jeremiah 17:7
I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
Confidence can go down two tracks: It can lead to cockiness, which results in pride and boasting, or it can lead to an inner assurance, which produces a healthy self-esteem and a sure conviction of where you are going. Confidence that leads to cockiness brings with it many fears, the greatest of which is the fear of losing face in front of others. Confidence that leads to inner assurance is not pride; it is security in Christ. You are secure because God has called you for a specific purpose, and he has given you spiritual gifts to carry out that purpose. You are doing your best at what God has specifically called you to do. The Bible uses the word boldness for “confidence.” With Christ by your side, you can boldly set out to do his work, confident that you are within his will.
Divine Promise
The LORD is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1
