My Question for God

Why doesn’t God take away the things I am most afraid of?

A Moment with God

Having hope will give you courage.

Job 11:18

All the believers lifted their voices together in prayer. . . . “O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

Acts 4:24, 29-31

The early church was constantly threatened with persecution. The believers did not pray for the threats to end, but for the courage to face them. Sometimes God will remove the things that frighten you. But more often, the Holy Spirit gives you the boldness to turn those threats into opportunities for spiritual growth and for declaring your faith. If God took away everything that frightened you, there would be no need for hope in your life. And it is hope that helps you see beyond the immediate crisis, causing you to place your current problem as well as your eternal future in God’s hands. When you are afraid at the enormity of the problem facing you, it is a divine moment to recognize God right by your side.

Divine Promise

Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
