My Question for God

How can I serve God when my life is full of distractions?

A Moment with God

The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And they shared the word of the Lord with him.

Acts 16:29-32

Most people would look at a jail sentence as a definite distraction from their ability to serve God. Not Paul and Silas! Their location didn’t keep them from their mission. They had been involved in a great ministry around the world; now they were confined to a small room with a very small audience. God seemed to be just fine with that. Instead of pushing away the distraction, Paul and Silas embraced it! Sometimes a distraction seems as restricting as a jail cell. But maybe God wants you to focus for a while on who and what are right in front of you. What you see as a distraction may actually be a calling from God to minister to new people in a new place.
