Friendship With God

Friendship with God

My Question for God

How can I be friends with God?

A Moment with God

Inside the Tent of Meeting, the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. . . . The LORD replied to Moses, “I will indeed do what you have asked, for I look favorably on you, and I know you by name.”

Exodus 33:11, 17

The LORD is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant.

Psalm 25:14

It happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.

James 2:23

What qualities do you look for in a friend? Perhaps you would list honesty, loyalty, or availability. God desires these same qualities from you. He wants you to come to him honestly about your struggles and successes, to remain faithful and loyal to him and his Word, and to make yourself available to spend quality time with him. If you fear separation in your own friendships—how much more should you fear separation from God? Respect him, confide in him, and remain loyal to him; he will call you his friend.

Divine Promise

I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

John 15:15
