Joy
Joy
My Question for God
How does knowing God inspire joy?
A Moment with God
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
Psalm 16:11
Since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
Romans 5:1-2
We can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
Romans 5:11
[The Macedonian believers] are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.
2 Corinthians 8:2
Joy happens in two ways. There is the temporary joy that is a reaction to happy events, and there is the strong and lasting joy that you experience in spite of circumstances. This lasting joy comes only as people follow God and live with his attitudes toward life. Happiness based on events is a good part of life, but if that is all you can count on, you have to keep creating happy events to keep you upbeat. Those who know the joy that comes from God don’t need perpetual events to keep them happy. They experience inner joy in spite of circumstances, because they know that no matter what happens, God offers hope and promise. God does not promise constant happiness; in fact, the Bible assures you that problems will come your way because you live in a fallen world. But God does promise lasting joy for all who faithfully follow him.
Divine Promise
The joy of the LORD is your strength!
Nehemiah 8:10
