My Question for God

Will God help me escape life’s troubles?

A Moment with God

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.

Luke 4:1-2

Overwhelmed. Defeated. Powerless. Out of control. You may sometimes feel as if there’s no way to overcome your circumstances or struggles. Life will present immense obstacles and invincible opponents, and God does not promise to help you escape. But take heart! The ability to overcome is the birthright of believers. And God has given you his Holy Spirit to help you overcome the obstacles and temptations in your life.

But the fact that you have God’s presence with you doesn’t mean that you won’t struggle. Being filled with the Holy Spirit did not prevent Jesus from being tempted, but it did help him overcome temptation. As long as you live on this earth, you will never be free from trouble, but you can have the power to overcome it through the Holy Spirit’s help. When you begin to see the obstacles in your life as opportunities for God to show his power, they will not seem so overwhelming. The very hardships and weaknesses that frighten you may be the tools God wants to use to help you overcome.

Divine Promise

The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger.
