Crisis Of Belief
Crisis of Belief
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
Psalm 73:25

Lucinda’s life was filled with friends and ministry, but her heart felt empty. In her early thirties, she often felt all alone. She longed for someone special to love who would love her in return. She prayed, asking God to answer her ache to be a wife and mother. “Your will be done,” she added at the end.
Over time, Lucinda recognized that only God could satisfy her deepest longings and loving him would bring the greatest joy. She acknowledged that her journey of experiencing God as enough would come with moments of loneliness and even despair. She claimed his strength and indwelling power so she could move forward each day doing the next right thing and being the woman he created her to be. Surrendering her dreams to him gave her freedom to embrace a hope-filled future.
A crisis of belief comes when we must choose whether or not to trust the Lord to meet every need. Our choice reveals what we believe to be true about him and determines the direction our lives take.

What’s your crisis of belief in your situation?
Pray
Lord, I surrender my dreams to you. I choose to trust.
“What do we do when God’s answer to our prayers doesn’t look like what we’ve envisioned? We keep trusting the one who is sovereign and loves us. We love him more and more each day, moving forward in answer to his calling. And he makes us soul strong.”
